Bad Credit Mortgage, CCJ Mortgages
Want a mortgage but have CCJ's? - If you want a mortgage and have CCJ's registered on your credit file you will need a mortgage that allows county court judgments to be registered on your credit file without impeding the underwriting process - this type of mortgage is often referred to as a CCJ mortgage.
If you have missed payments on loans or credit cards and your creditors have applied for court orders, and County Court Judgments (CCJ’s) have been registered against you things can seem daunting especially if you are a homeowner with country court judgments and need to remortgage, things can become very stressful when any fixed or discounted deal comes to an end and you want a mortgage with a more competitive rate - we could help.
Bad Credit Mortgage, Get a CCJ Mortgage
When people have CCJ's they tend to prefer to look at lenders that will allow CCJ’s to be registered, such as a CCJ mortgage or CCJ remortgage (also known as an adverse credit mortgage , sub prime, none conforming and bad credit mortgage) - rather than trying to get a mortgage from a high street lender or building society
as they are probably aware they would be unlikely to get a mortgage approved from a high street bank.
If you are not sure if you have CCJ's registered you can get your credit report which should show you when any CCJ's were registered, the amounts they were registered for and the amounts outstanding, your credit report will also show you if any CCJ's which are been registered have been repaid. Alternatively you can speak to a CCJ mortgage professional who understands the adverse mortgage market and which lenders would be willing to consider a mortgage application with CCJ's.
I have a CCJ and want a Mortgage
A CCJ mortgage is not too different from a remortgage, although there are typically a couple of differences in the way a CCJ mortgage case is viewed by a lender. Just like the remortgage's mentioned above, a CCJ mortgage will allow people with county court judgments registered on their credit file to apply for a mortgage - the products are tailor made to allow for county court judgments which is why they are sometimes referred to as a CCJ mortgage.
A CCJ or adverse credit mortgage will differ from a remortgage in a few ways - firstly you will need a deposit, with a remortgage people tend to use equity which has accrued in the property but obviously, with a purchase this is not normally the case, a deposit of 10% should be enough but we would suggest a minimum of 15% to give access to more mortgage products which in turn will mean we can look at getting you a better mortgage deal.
